BNPD officers responded around 12:15 p.m. Thursday to the Saline County Adult Education Center for a report of a subject having a gun on the property. A juvenile male subject was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun, which returned as stolen.

Benton Police Department arrested 31-year-old Christopher Jenkins, of Benton, Thursday afternoon in connection with the hit-and-run accident occurring May 18 just beyond exit 118 on the north service road in Benton. The victim is still hospitalized and recovering.
