Benton Police Department arrested 27-year-old Brandon Griffin just after 10 p.m. Saturday in the area of West Sevier Street and Bell Street after a brief foot pursuit. He is charged with multiple crimes stemming from at least six separate incidents.

Benton Police Department officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of Hyten and North Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday after a vehicle license plate returned with an active warrant from DeWitt PD. Upon probable cause search, over $1400 in cash was found on the person of 29-year-old Brian Stovall of Mabelvale.
Benton Police Department responded to the Shell gas station at approximately 3:40 a.m. Feb. 28 on the north service road in reference to a business alarm. A witness spotted a white male, later identified as 18-year-old Joseph Carter, running from the scene. After a brief search of the area and foot pursuit, officers took Carter into custody without incident.

Benton Police Department responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident near the intersection of Alcoa and Benton Parkway just after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim. The juvenile, age 9, was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where she remains in critical condition.

BNPD arrested 28-year-old Matthew McCoy, of Rison, without incident yesterday on 30 counts of video voyeurism and two counts of computer child pornography. All charges stem from a camera discovered in a restroom at a Benton residence.
Benton Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is overseeing the investigation, which remains ongoing. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
