BNPD LAUNCHES "DON'T BE A ZOMBIE" INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE DRUG ADDICTION AWARENESS
Benton Police Department launched today a month-long drug-addiction awareness campaign entitled “Don’t be a Zombie.” The initiative will culminate with the Arkansas Drug Take Back event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at multiple collection sites across the state. Benton locations will include Ferguson’s Furniture and Kroger Marketplace.
In recognition of National Rail Safety Week, Union Pacific Railroad has partnered with agencies across the state to promote rail safety for drivers and pedestrians. BNPD officers will join Union Pacific representatives Friday, Sept. 28, in a ride-along enforcement effort.
Benton Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive juvenile at a Hurricane Meadows residence at approximately 6:30 a.m. Monday. Upon arrival, it was determined that the juvenile was deceased. Criminal Investigations Division detectives arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
Benton Police Department received numerous vehicle Breaking or Entering calls in the Heritage Farms subdivision Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. After a brief search, officers took two juvenile suspects into custody.
