SIX DWI ARRESTS SINCE LAUNCH OF ‘RETHINK YOUR DRINK’ INITIATIVE
Since the launch of the Benton Police Department’s “Be Someone’s Sweetheart and Rethink Your Drink” initiative on Feb. 1, there have been six DWI arrests. Four of those arrests were made during the Super Bowl weekend.
As a result of a six month narcotic investigation conducted by officers with the Benton Police Department and deputies from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit, two people have been arrested and face multiple drug related charges. At about 7 a.m. Friday, Feb.
Officers from the Benton Police Department have arrested seven suspects for drug offenses from separate incidents this week.
During January’s “Warrant Resolve-Olution” Benton Police Department officers served 248 warrants. The department also issued 180 warrants. Though the monthly initiative is through, it doesn’t mean that officers will not be making arrests.
The Benton Police Department is launching the “Be Someone’s Sweetheart and Rethink Your Drink” that will focus on halting impaired driving.
Anyone who looked at the Benton Police Department parking lot on Thursday, Jan. 28, could have perceived that there was a Policeman’s Ball or some other festive event occurring. There were patrol vehicles, marked and unmarked, from 16 different agencies along with all the BNPD vehicles.
