As a result of a six month narcotic investigation conducted by officers with the Benton Police Department and deputies from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit, two people have been arrested and face multiple drug related charges. At about 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, deputies and BNPD SWAT team members served a high risk search and arrest warrant at 4821 Rushing Road in Saline County.
The investigation revealed evidence that methamphetamine has been distributed from the residence which led to the search and seizure warrant. During the execution of the warrant, a SWAT team member received non-life threatening injuries due to dealing with a vicious dog in the home. The SWAT team member was treated by medics at the scene and transported to an area hospital.
Quantities of suspected methamphetamine, suspected marijuana, and assorted prescription medications packaged for distribution, along with firearms (one firearm was reported stolen) and cash were seized from the home. Mark Mosher, 44, and 37-year-old Leah Stanley were each taken into custody, and face charges of Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Maintaining a Drug Premises, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession with Intent Schedule II Narcotic, Theft by Receiving, and Possession with Intent Schedule IV Narcotic.
Stanley additionally faces a charge of Possession with Intent Schedule VI Narcotic. Mosher additionally faces charges of Delivery of Methamphetamine, Use of a Communication Device, Possession with Intent Methamphetamine, and Possession with Intent Schedule V Narcotic.
“This is a great example of the cooperation of two agencies in this county, which led to these arrests, and that cooperation makes all the difference” said Saline County Sheriff Rodney Wright. “Drug enforcement will continue to be a high priority in Saline County.”
These arrests are part of an on-going investigation. Other arrests are expected in the near future as part of the on-going investigation.
