BULK OF DWI ARRESTS IN FEBRUARY WERE ON I-30 CORRIDOR
There are some interesting facts discovered by the Benton Police Department while reviewing the DWI arrests made in February, such as 8 of the 18 arrests were made along the Interstate 30 corridor. Though there were no DWI arrests made on any Friday during the month, 11 of the 18 arrests were made in the early morning hours of Sunday and Monday.
In a continual effort to increase safety, the Benton Police Department will be conducting the “NØ Need To Speed” traffic enforcement and education initiative.
Officers from the Benton Police Department made 18 DWI arrests during the February “Be Someone’s Sweetheart and Rethink Your Drink” initiative to keep intoxicated drivers off the city streets. Five of those arrests were made on the last weekend of the month.

Three Benton residents have been arrested for an alleged rape of a juvenile. Billy Joe Duke, 58, faces a class Y felony charge of Rape. David Eugene Lewis, 36, and 33-year-old Tonya Lynn Lewis each face a class B felony charge of Permitting Abuse of a Minor.
