At about 4:48 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, an officer on patrol noticed from across Interstate 30 that a vehicle had pulled into the parking lot of Mac’s Minnows and More (15920 I-30) and two men exited the vehicle.

At approximately 9:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to Walmart, located at 17309 Interstate 30, for a report of a bomb threat. Employees told officers they received a phone call of a man threatening to “blow up Walmart tonight.”

Dispatchers from the Benton Police Department will have the capability to immediately view the location of individuals during emergency calls when in a geo-fenced city-owned property, as well as precisely locating utility shut-offs, Automated External Defibrillators, and other critical information about the property.
A resident’s call to 911 after seeing a man attempting to remove a window air-conditioner unit from the home led to an arrest. At approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to Dalewood Drive, but the suspect had fled the area.
