NEARLY 360 WARRANTS SERVED DURING ‘28-DAYS OF HIDE & SEEK’ INITIATIVE
During the “28-Days of Hide & Seek” initiative in February, officers with the Benton Police Department served a total of 358 warrants. There were 37 felony warrants served, and 281 misdemeanor warrants served. There were also 40 warrants served from other law enforcement agencies.
Why is it important to know if a child is sitting properly in a car safety seat and that is it properly installed in the vehicle? Because 602 children ages 12 and younger died in the U.S. in 2014, and more than 121,350 were injured, due to lack of a child safety seat or an improperly fitted child safety seat.
The Benton Police Department will be the first agency in Arkansas to host FBI-LEEDA (Law Enforcement Executive Development Association) training courses. Three courses – the Supervisor Leadership Institute, the Command Leadership Institute and the Executive Leadership Institute – courses will be held at the department in March, May and July, respectively.
At approximately 3:05 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the area of Northshore, Oakbrook Cove and Denise for reports of Breaking and Entering of vehicles, one of which led to a home invasion robbery. Three black men, at least one brandishing a handgun, entered a home, robbed a couple and left in an unknown direction.
Three men face charges in connection to the shooting incident in the parking lot of Academy Sports + Outdoors on Interstate 30. One person was struck in the incident and remains in a local hospital with serious, but not life threatening injury.
A suspect arrested in connection to shooting incident Monday in the parking lot of Academy Sports + Outdoors on Interstate 30 faces additional charges. A fourth person has also been taken into custody stemming from the investigation.
