At approximately 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to Walmart, 17309 Interstate 30, for a report of a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival officers made contact with two suspects inside the stores garden center and both suspects fled on foot in different directions.

Two suspects are facing charges in connection to multiple vehicle break-ins, one which led to a home invasion robbery, on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, in the Northshore, Oakbrook Cove and Denise neighborhoods.

UPDATE: The Saline County Coroner’s Office is confirming the identity of the deceased suspect is the person the Pine Bluff Police Department has been investigating.

On Monday, Feb. 27, detectives with the Benton Police Department received information from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division of a possible child abuse case. A 14-year-old female reported sexual allegations with 57-year-old Bruce Wayne DeVries of Benton.
