On 8/28/13, at approximately 5:40 PM, an officer was on patrol in the 1200 block of W. South St. when they observed a vehicle with an illegible license plate expiration. After running the license through dispatch it was determined the vehicle was reported stolen.

On 8/25/13, at approximately 11:54 AM, an officer with the Benton Police Department was conducting routine patrol in the area of S. First St. when he observed a suspicious person leaning over some power tools near them. The officer stopped to investigate further and when going to make contact with the suspect, another citizen informed him they just saw the suspect leave the backyard of a neighbor’s residence.

On 8/21/13, at approximately 2:45 PM, officers responded to the 800 Block of S. Summit Road on report of a vehicle theft in progress. While in route, officers received descriptions and were able to locate the vehicle and suspects in question.
On 8/19/13, at approximately 8:00 PM, officers made contact with a business owner about a possible phone scam. The owner informed the officer they had received numerous phone calls from somebody claiming to be with Entergy Arkansas and telling them they were behind on their bill. The scam artist also told them if they didn’t pay the bill immediately their power would be shut off within the hour

On 8/20/13, at approximately 8:15 PM, officers responded to 2019 Thomas Road in reference to a disturbance call. Upon their arrival, officers spoke with the victim in the case who said the suspect had busted in the door to her residence and threatened to harm her with a brick.
