  Halloween is a special time of year for both you and your children.  The children get to enjoy dressing up and eating lots of candy and you are left with a lifetime of great memories about the fun they had.  We at the Benton Police Department want to help you ensure that they are safe while out there trick-or-treating so we have made a short list of things to consider before going out on Halloween night.

Benton Officers Design and Build Bike Safety Village

    Recently some of our officers were approached about teaching bicycle safety to students and various groups.  The school resources supervisor, Sgt. Lisa Stuart, came up with the idea of building a small scale bike safety village to help make the learning process easier for children.

Suspect Arrested for Aggravated Assault and Battery Charges

On 10/29/13, at approximately 12:10 PM, officers were dispatched to an address on Sunset Drive on report of a disturbance with a weapon. Upon officer’s arrival, contact was made with the victim who told them a subject had physically assaulted her and threatened her with a gun.

Saline County Rx Take Back Surpasses 2 ½ Tons

   Law enforcement agencies in Saline County took in 1,088.8 pounds of prescription medicine during Operation Medicine Cabinet VIII held on October 26th.  Agencies that participated were Alexander Police Department, Benton Police Department, Bryant Police Department, Haskell Police Department, and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.
