STORE ROBBERY SUSPECT APPREHENDED DURING PURSUIT
Detectives with the Benton Police Department have arrested a suspect for the June 16 armed robbery of the Kum & Go store on Lincoln Road. At approximately 4:01 p.m. Monday, Officers with the Benton Police Department made a traffic stop on Military Road and it was discovered the older model truck, which was recently spray painted black, had been reported stolen.
A suspect is sought for questioning in relation to the armed robbery of the Kum & Go at 2202 Lincoln Road in Benton about 10 p.m. June 16. Authorities are searching for 29-year-old Michael Cory Williams.
A warrant sweep conducted by Benton Police Department detectives, with assistance from Benton Interstate Criminal Enforcement Patrol (BICEP) members, on Wednesday, June 22 resulted in the arrest of six suspects and two suspects being held by other law enforcement agencies.
Tyndall Park in Benton will be filled with police officers, firefighters, and dogs and cats for Safety Saturday, a program of the Benton Police Departments #KidsFirst initiative. The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in front of the Gene Moss Building at Tyndall Park.
