The Benton Police Department is proud to announce the graduation of three officers from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) in Camden, Ark. on July 29. Matthew Fee, Alfiya Mills, and David Robinson each graduated after completing 480 hours through the academy.

On 7/4/16, at approximately 9:53 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the Ralph Bunche Park on report of shots possibly being fired in the area. Officers were unable to locate any evidence of criminal activity at the time and no suspects were named.

During the month of July, the Benton Police Department working jointly with the Bryant Police Department, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Highway Patrol and the Arkansas State Police to enhance public safety and reduce traffic accidents.
Detectives with the Benton Police Department have arrested a suspect for the June 16 armed robbery of the Kum & Go store on Lincoln Road. Michael Cory Williams, 29, of Harrison was arrested this week by St. Francis County Sheriff’s deputies following a pursuit in which Williams was reportedly driving a vehicle stolen in St.
