At approximately 3:38 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at Arkansas Highway 5 and Leigh Street. Upon arrival, the driver of a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, 72-year-old Jerry Lynn Garland of Bauxite was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At approximately 5:14 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a possible medical emergency concerning an unconscious man parked in a vehicle at Sunset Lake. Officers and medical units arrived and found 56-year-old Harold Henry of Benton deceased inside the reported vehicle.

A ceremony was held at the Benton Police Department today to honor the 20-year career of Lt. Terry Fuller.
“It’s been a fulfilling career,” Lt. Fuller said. “I never thought I’d see this day. I’m going to miss all the friends I’ve made and worked with here.”

Information relayed between citizens and detectives with the Benton Police Department have led to the arrest of two men for connection to the recent theft of multiple vehicles from the Everett Pre-Owned dealership in Benton.
