Detectives with the Benton Police Department have made an arrest in relation to the recent armed robbery of the Home Run Gas Mart (1415 Military Rd.) that occurred on 1/26/14. The suspect in the case, Walter Wilkerson (23 YOA) of Benton, was taken into custody on 1/30/14 without incident.
On 1/29/14, at approximately 12:24 PM, Benton officers responded to an address on Fifth Street on report of a residential burglary. Upon making contact with the victim, it was determined that a burglary had occurred and numerous items had been stolen.

On January 19th, officers responded to the Benton Antique Mall (18325 I-30) on report of an armed robbery call. Upon their arrival, contact was made with the victim in the case who reported that three suspects had robbed him at gunpoint.
