DISTURBANCE CALL RESULTS IN TWO SUSPECTS BEING ARRESTED
On 4/9/14, at approximately 9:22 PM, officers responded to a call of a possible disturbance in the area of the I-30 S. Service Road and Old Congo Road.

Recently, Chief Kirk Lane of the Benton Police Department was awarded his Senior Chief Certificate through the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards. Earning this certificate is a distinction that is given to police chiefs within the state who meet the standards set forth.

On 4/8/14, at approximately 7:00AM , officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the Saline Memorial Hospital in reference to an unresponsive infant. Upon their arrival it was determined the infant had been pronounced deceased by the hospital staff and the deputy coroner.
Motorists from all over the country are reminded that from April 10-15, 2014, officers with the Benton Police Department will be using a combination of traditional and innovative strategies to crack down on motorists who text while driving. This effort is a part of the national U Drive. U Text. U Pay.

On 4/2/14, two officers with the Benton Police Department and their K-9’s were nationally recognized at the National Criminal Enforcement Association (NCEA) conference in Nashville, TN. The two officers that received awards were Sgt. Brian Bigelow and K-9 Lucky, and Detective Eli Fowlkes and K-9 Benton.
