BNPD officers responded to a private property accident at Home Depot- 17060 I-30- just after 6:45 p.m. Friday. The incident involved several juveniles and an unoccupied vehicle that was struck in the parking lot.
While officers were collecting statements from the parties involved, the owner of the struck vehicle attempted to run over the juvenile driver. Officers subsequently arrested the owner of the vehicle, 24-year-old Daisha McCuien, of Benton, for Attempted Murder 1st Degree- Class A Felony; four counts of Aggravated Assault- Class D Felonies; Battery 1st- Class Y Felony; four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor 1st Degree- Class D Felonies; and Reckless Driving- Unclassified Felony.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. BNPD Criminal Investigations Division assumed the investigation, which remains ongoing.
