Criminal Investigation Division

CIDLogoThe Criminal Investigations Division investigates crimes that have been reported to the Benton Police Department that did not result in an immediate arrest. They follow up on cases that are to be prosecuted and continue the investigation prior to presenting the case and charges to the District Attorney's Office. They are responsible for the follow-up investigations of offenses reported by patrol, conducting the follow-up investigation of other serious offenses and communicating with other law enforcement agencies to exchange information pertinent to criminal activity. They also provide crime scene search and photographic services to all divisions and the management of evidence.
