Benton Police Department responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident near the intersection of Alcoa and Benton Parkway just after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim. The juvenile, age 9, was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where she remains in critical condition. The victim’s 15-year-old sister also sustained minor injuries.
The BNPD Criminal Investigations Division, in partnership with the Accident Reconstruction Team, has assumed the investigation. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is giving full cooperation.
