REPORTS OF SHOPLIFTERS LED TO FOOT PURSUITS, TWO ARRESTS

Martin Jamario KeyshawnAt approximately 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to Walmart, 17309 Interstate 30, for a report of a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival officers made contact with two suspects inside the stores garden center and both suspects fled on foot in different directions.

Both suspects were later apprehended and taken into custody.

Jamario Keyshawn Martin, 19, of Pine Bluff faces charges of Shoplifting, class D felony; Fleeing, class C misdemeanor; Refusal to Submit to Arrest, class B misdemeanor; Removal of an Anti-Theft Device, class A misdemeanor; Possession of an Instrument of Crime, class A misdemeanor; Criminal Impersonation, class A misdemeanor; Use of Another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime, class B felony; and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, class A misdemeanor.

The second suspect is a juvenile and charges were forward to the Saline County Juvenile Office. Those charges are: Shoplifting, class D felony; Fleeing, class C misdemeanor; Refusal to Submit to Arrest, class B misdemeanor; Removal of an Anti-Theft Device, class A misdemeanor; Criminal Impersonation, class A misdemeanor; and Using Another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime, class B felony.
