TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF SUSPECT IN STOLEN VEHICLE

MelissaBakerOn 3/30/15, at approximately 10:08 PM, an officer with the Benton Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a truck near the intersection of Cox St. and Mason Drive.  
 
Contact was made with the driver, later identified as Melissa Baker (37 YOA) of Little Rock.  It was determined through a license check that Baker had two outstanding warrants from other agencies and was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Further investigation determined the license plate on the truck had been reported stolen out of Pulaski County and the truck had been reported stolen out of Conway. 
 
Baker was placed under arrest and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without incident.  She was charged with 2 counts of Theft by Receiving, Driving on Suspended Driver’s License, and No Proof of Liability Insurance.  Baker was also being held for  two warrants that were confirmed out of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office and the Bryant Police Department.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
