On 5/9/15, at approximately 10:08 PM, an officer with the Benton Police Department observed a vehicle driving without any lights on in the area of Magnolia Street. The vehicle was then stopped for the traffic infraction in the parking lot of Saline Memorial Hospital.
The officer made contact the driver, Sarah Stanart (40 YOA) of Benton, and two passengers in the vehicle. A driver’s license check revealed that Stanart had an active warrant out of the Bryant Police Department. Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of a plastic bag containing a white crystalized substance that appeared to be Methamphetamine along with a syringe that was loaded with a clear liquid, which was also believed to be Methamphetamine.
Stanart was placed under arrest and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without incident. She was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Additionally, a hold was placed on Stanart for the warrant out of the Bryant Police Department. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
