Detectives with the Benton Police Department have made an arrest in relation to numerous property crimes that have occurred recently. The suspect, identified as Taylor Peden (22 YOA) of Traskwood, was charged on 1/13/15.
Based on information and evidence gathered by detectives, Peden was charged in relation to two commercial burglaries and a residential burglary. The two commercial burglaries took place at the Royal Theatre in downtown Benton and at Fitness Unlimited on Hwy 35 North. The residential burglary took place on Sunset Drive. Additionally, he was connected to other property crimes that have taken place in the city over the past two months.
Peden was already incarcerated in the Saline County Detention Facility on other charges whenever detectives charged him. He is charged with 2 counts of Commercial Burglary, Residential Burglary, 2 counts of Breaking or Entering, Theft of Property, 2 counts of Criminal Mischief, and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
