ManuelPortilloOn 10/27/14, at approximately 12:12 AM, officers with the Benton Police Department took a report of a possible rape involving a female juvenile victim.  During the investigation, evidence indicated that a rape had taken place and that there was possibly another juvenile victim involved.  

 

Officers and detectives then made contact with the suspect in the case, identified as Manuel Portillo (51 YOA) of Benton.  After developing more information and evidence, Portillo was subsequently arrested and charged with 3 counts of Rape.  He was then transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without incident and is presently awaiting a bond hearing.  

 

The two victims and Portillo were acquaintances prior to this incident taking place.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible as it continues.
