Ventry MichaelVentry MicquelleAt approximately 11:23 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the Chapel Ridge Apartment Complex after receiving calls of a suspected burglary. Witnesses told officers that a man, identified as 28-year-old Michael Deshone Ventry of Benton, was noticed exiting a residence wearing surgical gloves and carrying a TV and Playstation video game system under his arms. Witnesses said Ventry then entered another residence.

After securing the area, detectives responded to the area and executed a search warrant for the residence witnesses noticed Ventry enter last. Detectives reported finding Ventry hiding in a bathroom closet. Ventry was taken into custody and transported to the Saline County Detention Center. Ventry faces charges of Residential Burglary, class B felony; Theft of Property, class D felony; Unauthorized Use of Another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime, class B felony; and Criminal Mischief, class A misdemeanor.

During the arrest of Michael Ventry, a juvenile was also taken into custody for charges of class B felony Residential Burglary and class D felony Theft of Property. Micquelle Ventry, 19, of Benton was also taken into custody for charges of Hindering Apprehension, class C felony. Micquelle Ventry also was served a warrant for eight counts of Failure to Appear.
