grumpychiefSMALLAfter serving the community for 22 years, Sgt. Justin Tittle retired from the Benton Police Department. Chief Kirk Lane and officers presented Tittle with his service weapon, badge and a shadow box of award and ranking badges.


The son of Larry and Myra Tittle of Benton, Justin Tittle began working for the BNPD on July 1, 1994 as a patrol officer. On April 22, 1996, he transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division and worked as a detective until March 29, 1999, when he transferred back to the Patrol Division. On Aug. 16, 1999, Tittle transferred to the Bike Patrol Division. He was promoted to Corporal on July 24, 2000. He transferred back to the Patrol Division on June 11, 2001. In June 2009, Tittle was promoted to Sergeant and was transferred to the Training Division where he stayed until his retirement.

After graduating from Benton High School, Tittle attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He graduated from the Criminal Justice Institute’s School of Law Enforcement Supervision in May 2015. Tittle received his Range Master Certification in October 2013. He was a member of the BNPD SWAT team from 2000-2005 and from 2010-2014 where he was the Assistant Team Leader.

“Justin was my go to guy on checking on records and always got what I needed and always got it done very quickly,” Chief Kirk Lane said. “He has trained countless people in this department how to shoot through the Training Division and I believe that is an achievement that will be hard to match.”
