On 8/3/15, officers with the Benton Police Department took a report of a theft from the Angie Grant Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Officers were informed that during an audit of the PTO account it was found that numerous unapproved charges had been made.
Detectives were then assigned to the case and a suspect was identified as Amanda Tiner (30 YOA) of Mabelvale, who was the PTO treasurer. During the course of their investigation it was determined that over $9,000 was missing and unaccounted for in the PTO account. Based on information and evidence gathered during the investigation, Tiner was subsequently arrested in relation to the case.
Tiner was charged with Theft of Property (C Felony) and detained at the Saline County Detention Facility for processing. Tiner was later released on a $5,000 signature bond.
