Police Car - Benton Police

GlennBurns1On 10/19/14, at approximately 11:52 PM, officers with the Benton Interstate Criminal Enforcement Program (BICEP) initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on westbound I-30. Contact was made with the driver and a passenger in the vehicle. 

 

After officers smelled an odor from an illegal narcotic (marijuana) coming from inside the vehicle, the occupants were removed from it.  The passenger, later identified as Glenn Burns (28 YOA) of Little Rock, was found to be in possession of 6.5 oz. of suspected marijuana and a pistol with a 30 round magazine that had previously been reported stolen out of Little Rock. 

 

Burns was placed under arrest and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing.  Burns is charged with Possession of Illegal Narcotics with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons (Felon in Possession), Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and a Firearm, and Theft by Receiving.  Additionally, Burns is an active parolee out of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections.
