TWO SUSPECTS CHARGED WITH 37 COUNTS OF FORGERY

On 9/13/14, officers with the Benton Police Department took a report of forgery involving checks being stolen from the victim and suspects were named.  The suspects in the case were identified as Ashlee Rodgers (23 YOA) and Neil Phelps (27 YOA) of Benton.  
 
Detectives started working on the case and developed information and evidence that led to a warrant being issued against Rodgers and Phelps. The suspects reportedly stole checks from a family member and wrote checks out to themselves that were then cashed.  The amount stolen was over $5,000. 
 
Rodgers and Phelps were both arrested on 10/6/14 and are each charged with 37 counts of Forgery.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
