RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY SUSPECT APPREHENDED

ThomasShirley1On 1/29/14, at approximately 12:24 PM, Benton officers responded to an address on Fifth Street on report of a residential burglary.  Upon making contact with the victim, it was determined that a burglary had occurred and numerous items had been stolen.  
 
Detectives assumed the investigation and a suspect, Thomas Shirley (19 YOA) of Benton, was identified. Based on evidence and information gathered by detectives, Shirley was subsequently taken into custody for this crime without incident.  
 
Shirley is charged with Residential Burglary and Theft of Property, and is currently incarcerated in the Saline County Detention Facility.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
