Officer Recovers Stolen Vehicle and Arrests Suspects on Traffic Stops

On 8/28/13, at approximately 5:40 PM, an officer was on patrol in the 1200 block of W. South St. when they observed a vehicle with an illegible license plate expiration.  After running the license through dispatch it was determined the vehicle was reported stolen.  

 
The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Tommy Stokes (W/M, 43 YOA).  Stokes was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Theft by Receiving and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing.
 
 
The vehicle was originally reported stolen from an address on Congo Road on 8/20/13. Detectives assumed the investigation and it is still on-going with additional charges possible in relation to this incident.
