Suspects Arrested for Illegal Narcotics and Prohibited Weapons

    On 10/28/13, at approximately 7:15 AM, officers with the Benton Police Department assisted agents with the United States Forestry Service, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office in executing a search warrant at an address on Hwy 9 in Paron.  
    Upon execution of the search warrant, Gregory James (48 YOA) and Tanner James (25 YOA) were placed under arrest for manufacturing a schedule VI controlled substance.  There was 1.5 pounds of cultivated marijuana found at the residence and additional plants were found in a nearby grow site. 
 
 
    During the course of the investigation, officers located numerous firearms inside the residence in close proximity to the narcotics.  Some of the weapons found in their possession had also been illegally modified.  
    Both subjects were charged with Maintaining a Drug Premises, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Manufacturing of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Criminal Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
