Two Suspects Arrested For Theft And Robbery At Local Business

On 11/18/13, at approximately 6:00 PM, officers responded to the Wal-Mart Supercenter (17309 I-30) in reference to a shoplifting call.  Upon arrival, officers made contact with store employees who informed them two suspects had stolen items and used force during the commission of the crime.

Employees said they observed a suspect, later identified as Kiara Sibounheuang (20 YOA), leaving the store without paying for some merchandise.  When the employees confronted Sibounheuang about stealing the items she continued to walk away from them.  When she arrived at her vehicle, Sibounheuang then confronted an employee and pushed them while making threats to harm them.

Sibounheuang and another suspect, later identified as Christopher Burns (21 YOA), quickly loaded the items into their vehicle and took off on the I-30 South Service Road towards Little Rock.  Suspect information had been previously shared with surrounding agencies and they were located by a state trooper a short time later.

Officers and detectives with the Benton Police Department then responded and took custody of Sibounheuang and Burns.  Sibounheuang is charged with Robbery and Resisting Arrest, and Burns is charged with Obstruction of a Governmental Operation, Shoplifting, and two active warrants out of other departments.  Additionally, Burns is an active parolee out of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections.
