The Benton Police Department is proud to announce the recent graduation of one of our officers from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy. The officer is Joshua Pennington who was hired by the department in April of this year after successfully passing all of the required testing and hiring requirements.
Officer Pennington graduated from the Black River Technical College Law Enforcement Training Academy at the end of November. Officer Pennington successfully passed all required academic and training requirements, and qualified at a Sharpshooter ranking in firearms proficiency.
In addition to over 500 hours of training at the academy, Officer Pennington also completed a twelve week Field Training Course prior to attending the academy. Since his graduation he been assigned to the patrol division where he is currently working
