SUSPECT ON PAROLE ARRESTED FOR NUMEROUS CHARGES INCLUDING INJURY TO AN OFFICER

StuartTrumbleOn 12/14/15, at approximately 2:30 am, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to Murphy USA (17305 I-30) on report of a suspicious person looking inside cars in the parking lot.  
 
Upon their arrival, officers made contact with a suspect who was later identified as Ross Mallon (30 YOA) of Little Rock.  Mallon attempted to provide officers with fictitious information about his identity, but one of the officers was familiar with him from a previous incident.  
 
After being confronted about his identity and an active warrant he had for his arrest, Mallon began fighting with officers in an attempt to avoid being arrested.  One officer received minor injuries as a result, but Mallon was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.   
 
Mallon was transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing.  He was charged with Obstructing a Governmental Operation, Resisting Arrest, and Battery 2nd Degree for this incident.  In relation to a previous incident, he was also charged with Residential Burglary, Terroristic Threatening, and Criminal Mischief.  Additionally, Mallon is an active parolee out of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections and had an active warrant out of their agency at the time of arrest.
