BNPD OFFICERS SOLVE RECENT RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY CASE AND MAKE ARREST

EricaStell1On 7/1/15, at approximately 12:16 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department took a report of a residential burglary and theft in the 1800 block of Leawood Drive.  It was reported to officers that neighbors witnessed somebody break into the home, but they were gone prior to their arrival. 
 
Officers then spoke with the homeowner about the incident who later realized some jewelry had been stolen from her home.  Based on information and evidence they gathered, officers were able to identify a suspect in the case as being Erica Stell (34 YOA) of Benton. An arrest warrant was then obtained for Stell for the charges of burglary and theft of property.  
 
On 7/2/15, officers were able to locate Stell and take her into custody without incident. She was transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing and was charged with Burglary and Theft of Property. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
