ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION LEADS TO FELONY DRUG ARREST

KevinLangleyOn 3/22/15, at approximately 7:05 PM, officers responded to a call of a single vehicle accident near the intersection of Lillian St. and Sevier Street. While responding to the call, officers were informed an individual was seen exiting the vehicle and running towards Tyndall Park.

According to several witnesses, they observed a Jeep driving on Sevier St. in the middle of the roadway whenever it swerved and hit an embankment, which almost caused it to flip.  They said a white male suspect, later identified as Kevin Langley (30 YOA) of Benton, was seen exiting the vehicle and running towards Tyndall Park.

Officers located Langley a short time later and he was detained for investigative purposes.  While investigating the accident, officers located 4.9 grams of a crystalized substance believed to be Methamphetamine (Approximate street value $500).  Additionally, officers located suspected items commonly used in the sale and deliver of illegal narcotics (digital scales) inside the vehicle.

Langley was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility without incident.  He is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving on Suspended Driver’s License, No Proof of Liability Insurance, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
