TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR METHAMPHETAMINE RELATED CHARGES FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

On 3/15/15, at approximately 8:15 AM, an officer with the Benton Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 5 and Rivendell Drive.  
 
During the traffic stop, officers made contact with the driver, Michael Evett (33 YOA) of Bryant, and a passenger, Amber Grill (29 YOA) of Benton. During the stop officers discovered a small bag containing 1.5 grams of a white crystal substance, suspected methamphetamine, inside the car.  
 
Evett and Grill were then placed into custody without incident for possession of methamphetamine.  During further investigation, officers located approximately 3.9 grams of additional white crystal substance (also suspected methamphetamine) in Grill’s possession along with numerous small baggies, digital scales, and paraphernalia used to ingest illegal narcotics (spoon). 
 
Evett and Grill were transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing.  Evett was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Grill was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
