DETECTIVES MAKE ARREST IN RECENT RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY CASE

JenniferCowlingOn 12/22/14, officers with the Benton Police Department took a report of a burglary at an address on Freedom Cove. The victim in the case advised that items had been stolen, including jewelry and a debit card.  
 
The case was turned over to detectives for investigation and a suspect was identified as Jennifer Cowling (29 YOA) of Benton. Evidence and information gathered indicated that Cowling had stolen items from the victim’s residence on the date in question.  It was further revealed the debit card had been fraudulently used to obtain items at area businesses.  
 
A warrant was issued for Cowlings’ arrest and she was subsequently placed under arrest.  She is charged with Residential Burglary, Theft of Property, and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. The items reported stolen by the victim were returned to the owner.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
