BNPD OFFICERS ARREST SUSPECT FOR FALSE IMPRISONMENT AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

GaryKyle1On 11/19/14, at approximately 10:29 AM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to 1616 Hudson St. on report of a disturbance with a weapon call.  
 
Upon their arrival in the area, officers made contact with a person walking down the street that matched the description of the suspect in the incident.  They made contact with the suspect, identified as Gary Kyle (53 YOA) of Benton, and spoke with him about the incident.  
 
Officers also made contact with the victim and witnesses in the case.  According to the victim, she attempted to leave the residence numerous times and Kyle wouldn’t let her.  She said he physically restrained her and when some friends attempted to help her leave, Kyle then threatened to harm one of them with a knife.  
 
Based on information and evidence gathered, officers then took Kyle into custody without incident.  He is charged with Terroristic Threatening, False Imprisonment, Aggravated Assault, and 3rd Degree Assault on a Family or Household Member.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
