SUSPECT POSING AS VACUUM CLEANER SALESMAN ARRESTED FOR THEFT

AndreWhiteOn 6/20/14, at approximately 10:58 AM, officers with the Benton Police Department took a report in reference to a theft of some personal checks.  
 
The victim informed officers that on 6/16 a man claiming to be selling vacuums stopped by his residence for a demonstration.  A few days later he noticed discrepancies on his bank account and realized checks had been written for a few hundred dollars that he hadn’t wrote. The missing checks had been taken from the victim’s checkbook that was in the area of the house where the vacuum demonstration had been conducted.  
 
Officers were able to determine through their investigation that the suspect was Andre White (24 YOA) of Little Rock.  Officers were able to locate White on 6/21 and he was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with Theft of Property (Felony) and was transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing.
