On 4/22/14, detectives with the Benton Police Department took a report of a possible sexual assault involving a female juvenile victim. During the investigation, evidence indicated that a sexual assault had taken place and a suspect was named. Detectives then made contact with the suspect in the case, identified as Malcolm Moore (20 YOA). After an extensive investigation, Moore was subsequently arrested on 4/24/14 and charged with Sexual Assault 2nd Degree. He was then transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without incident and is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
The victim and Moore were acquaintances prior to this incident taking place. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible as it continues.
