INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST OF BUSINESS BURGLARY SUSPECT

JasonHamilton-Bordered1On 3/28/14, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to A Kid’s Place (N. Main St.) on report of a business burglary.  Upon their arrival, it was determined that forced entry had been made into the business and that items had been taken, and a van belonging to them had also been stolen. 
 
Later on 3/28/14, officers took a report about the van being spotted at a business on Military Rd. and proceeded to the area.  Prior to their arrival, officers were informed a suspect seen near the van had fled the scene.  Officers conducted a search of the area and later made contact with the suspect, later identified as Jason Hamilton (33 YOA) of Benton.  
 
Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident and subsequently arrested Hamilton for the crime.  Hamilton is being charged with Commercial Burglary and two counts of Theft of Property. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
