Detectives Solve Felony Forgery Case and Make Arrest

  On 9/4/13, at approximately 1:47 PM, officers responded to Robinette St. on report of a theft and forgery call.  It was determined that a suspect had stolen checks from the victim and was possibly forging them at local businesses.  

 
    Detectives then assumed the investigation, and determined the suspect in the case was Paul Babbitt Jr. (W/M, 27 YOA).  Detectives were able to gather evidence in the case that led them to Babbitt and then obtained a warrant for his arrest in the incident.  
 
    Babbitt is charged with 19 counts of Forgery (Felony) and 19 counts of Theft of Property (Class A Misdemeanor) in this case.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible in the future.
