On 7/29/15, at approximately 11:14 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to an accident on Northshore Drive at the entrance to the Northshore Gardens subdivision. It was determined a maroon passenger car was traveling west on Northshore Drive whenever it veered off of the roadway, traveled through a fence, and struck the rear of a home on Jasmine Drive. The driver of the car, a 17 year old female, was transported from the scene to Saline Memorial Hospital. She was later transported via med flight to a hospital in Little Rock.
At approximately 3:00 AM on 7/30, officers were informed by the Pulaski County Coroner's Office that the driver had succumbed to her injuries and passed away. The Benton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is still investigating the cause of the crash and further details will be available at a later date.
