On 3/11/15, at approximately 6:28 PM, officers responded to the 3500 block of Silica Heights Rd. in reference to a disturbance with weapons call. Upon their arrival, they made contact with numerous individuals at the residence.

Officers spoke with the two suspects who were involved in the disturbance, Joseph Williams (33 YOA) and Brandon Dobbs (35 YOA).  Williams indicated he became upset about an on-going problem with children playing in the street in the area and yelled at them to move.  According to both subjects, Dobbs went over to Williams’ home to speak with him about the situation when they both became engaged in a verbal argument.

Based on witness information and evidence, Williams and Dobbs then engaged in physically threatening behavior towards each other.  Williams was alleged to have a baton at first and then grabbed a shotgun that he presented towards Dobbs. Dobbs allegedly grabbed an AR-15 style rifle and pointed it towards Williams during the argument.

Williams and Dobbs were placed under arrest and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without incident.  Both are charged with Aggravated Assault and Disorderly Conduct.  The firearms were taken and entered into evidence in the case.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
