On 11/24/14, at approximately 11:40 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the Shell Superstop (16824 I-30) on report of an alarm call.  Upon their arrival, they observed the front glass broken out of the business and merchandise had been stolen.

During the course of their investigation, officers discovered evidence that led them to three suspects in the case. The suspects were identified as Richard Minns (23 YOA) of Virginia, Anthony Fondreu (26 YOA) of Missouri, and Lakuan Rhyne (22 YOA) of New York.  All three suspects were found to be staying in the nearby Econolodge motel (16732 I-30).

Based on evidence and information gathered, officers subsequently arrested Minns, Fondreu, and Rhyne in relation to the burglary.  All three suspects are charged with Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property and are currently incarcerated in the Saline County Detention Facility.

It should be noted that during the investigation, officers determined the three suspects were in the Benton area under the guise of selling magazines.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
