BNPD DETECTIVES MAKE ARREST RELATED TO DRIVE-BY SHOOTING DAMAGE TO BENTON HIGH SCHOOL

JustinCarroll1On 9/11/14, detectives and school resource officers with the Benton Police Department working in conjunction with Benton School District officials developed information on a suspect, identified as Justin Carroll (18 YOA) of Benton, in relation to two recent incidents of glass being shot out at Benton High School.  Both incidents occurred during the late night hours on 8/25 and 9/6.    
 
Based on information and evidence obtained, the detectives obtained a search warrant for Carroll’s home.  Two pistols were located in the home during the search along with drug paraphernalia.  Both pistols are believed to have been stolen and one of them had a defaced serial number on it.  
 
Carroll is charged with two counts of Criminal Mischief, two counts of committing a Terroristic Act, two counts of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle, Theft by Receiving, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Theft of Property.  
 
Additional charges related to separate criminal mischief incidents are also pending on Carroll.  
The investigation is on-going and additional arrests and charges are expected.
