On 4/8/14, at approximately 7:00AM , officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the Saline Memorial Hospital in reference to an unresponsive infant. Upon their arrival it was determined the infant had been pronounced deceased by the hospital staff and the deputy coroner.
Detectives were assigned to the case and it was determined the child was originally found to be unresponsive at a residence, located at 1205 N. Shady Lane, prior to being transported to the hospital. A search warrant was later conducted this date at the residence in relation to the investigation.
This is an on-going death investigation and additional information cannot be released at this time. Considerable departmental resources are being devoted to this investigation due to the seriousness of the case. No charges have been filed in regards to this investigation at this time.
