On 2/27/14, detectives with the Benton Police Department took a report of a possible rape involving a female juvenile victim. During the investigation, evidence indicated that a rape had taken place and that there was possibly another juvenile victim involved. Detectives then made contact with the suspect in the case, identified as Mickel Bodiford (62 YOA). After an extensive investigation, Bodiford was subsequently arrested on 2/28/14 and charged with 3 counts of Rape. He was then transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without incident and currently has a $25,000 bond.
The two victims and Bodiford were acquaintances prior to this incident taking place. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible as it continues.
